Introduction

PureLab is based in Switzerland and modifies computers and smartphones in order to make them as free (free as in freedom) as possible. The main ingredients we use to achieve this goal are:

Unfortunately, we dont have time to maintain a full site in english. That's why we give you a brief overwiew over our products via this page. Don't hesitate to contact us directly, if you want to know more about them. If you're interested in buying our products: we do ship internationally (costs will be higher of course than deliveries in Switzerland and also include a shipping insurance).

Computers

 Libreboot x200:
Modified Thinkpad x200 with Libreboot and Trisquel GNU/Linux 7. The x200 is considered as one of the freest computers available (deactivated Intel ME, no microcode updates, custom GbE-descriptor). Have a look at our german page for more details.
Coreboot x230:
Modified Thinkpad x230 with Coreboot, SeaBIOS and Trisquel GNU/Linux 7. Since Intel ME can't be disabled on newer platforms, we "neutralize" it using me_cleaner. In comparison to the x200 you get more or less twice the power, a nice touchpad and a redesigned keyboard, although all this comes at the price of additional binary blobs (MicroCode-Update, VGA - as to the VGA-blob we also offer the possibility not to install it). We also offer a flash service which gives you the possibility to send us our computer an we will modify it so that it works with a maximum of free Software.
